Sarah's explanation was the clearest I've ever seen. I have the fishing line, but not the jig. Yours looks very doable, and I thank you for that. I look forward to seeing the results. Now if I can just make my self go to that big box store. :) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15754166508704266845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-71858415103031112442016-02-04T21:54:10.773-07:002016-02-04T21:54:10.773-07:00I know it! The difference between this and Navajo weaving is that the Navajo warps don't shed easily. Meaning the last few inches have to be woven with a needle. With this method there is a clear shed for the entire weaving.Rebecca Mezoffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16138972934775842473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-28497827200123544272016-02-04T18:41:25.311-07:002016-02-04T18:41:25.311-07:00Similar I think. But I'm sure the Mirrix no-ends-kit works fine too.Rebecca Mezoffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16138972934775842473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-50437338083942008572016-02-04T18:37:23.653-07:002016-02-04T18:37:23.653-07:00Isn't the four selvedge method the same as the...Isn't the four selvedge method the same as the Mirrix no-ends warping method? The Mirrix method replaces the shedding device with a bar holding s rings or paperclips, to wrap the warp around, on each end of the weaving suspended by texsolv cords. Once warped you weave the length of the warp, slip the warp off the rings or clips and needle weave one weft thread. Finished. I think the Mirrix loom is too sophisticated for that weaving. After I read Sara's instructions when they came out, it reminded me so much of my Navajo Weaving class that I took from Lynda Pete right here in her home in Denver. Sara's project eliminates a few of the navajo weaving steps but does accomplish the same goal. Which never clicked in my mind to use my navajo loom for tapestry weaving without fringe! If you are in need of a loom to try it on, you can borrow mine!Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00221443950573473961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-72076837381548157162016-02-04T15:47:15.707-07:002016-02-04T15:47:15.707-07:00Thanks for the reference to Helena Hernmarck's...Thanks for the reference to Helena Hernmarck's class. I didn't know of you in 2013 and hadn't seen that blog post. I love your black and white study. I've been looking at Lany Eila's b/w studies. I'm fascinated by the richness of your/her use of the grey scale. A bit of black magic?Nancy Kramernoreply@blogger.com
