What a gift that you've got the books and can take time to notice what was important to her when she made those notes.Tommye McClure Scanlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09816922767294739515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-78445231488320162992013-12-17T16:48:40.446-07:002013-12-17T16:48:40.446-07:00You are so lucky to have some of her drawings! Then one day, there would be a troll 'caught' in her net in the garden shed! (This was WAY before elf on a shelf people!) I love seeing her penmanship underlined multiple times, arrows, dashes, dots, etc. Even her envelopes were as detailed as her letters! Thanks for the memory today cousin, you are inspiring all of us to write in the margins, and to loan out our precious books!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12944197030600149490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-76221963056236531452013-12-17T09:53:32.888-07:002013-12-17T09:53:32.888-07:00Your Grandmother must have been an amazing woman, ...Your Grandmother must have been an amazing woman, we were talk never to write in books, but I do write and underline in textbooks, why is that ok?Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09300029654181323351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-75019295388047604272013-12-17T09:35:44.168-07:002013-12-17T09:35:44.168-07:00Well Mary Berry (what a great name!), that is a fa...Well Mary Berry (what a great name!), that is a fantastic question. I think she is changing my mind about the "never write in books" rule that I was raised with. However, I have to say out of all the wildflower books that my father had on his shelf, the ones that I took were the ones where he had made notes to say when and where he and I had found the flowers. It held such good memories for me of my father and me tramping all over the Appalachia looking for rare species of wildflowers. I will treasure that book because of his notes. I envy your record of your grandmother.

ringadalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06283684479786006008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71232803753868616.post-42152484591562578232013-12-17T05:27:14.030-07:002013-12-17T05:27:14.030-07:00How lovely to see all her notes.
