This piece was inspired by the petroglyphs that are around the house I'm living in near Velarde, NM. The orange forms are "rocks" and the spiral is a common petroglyph motif which scholars think indicates emerging from the last world to this one (Anasazi). The piece did hang at the non-juried show Intermountain Creations at the Intermountain Weaver's Conference in Durango this past weekend. It got a 2nd place people's choice award which was fun!
Very cool idea on the use of color for the 3D. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Rebecca, and very different from my piece that I titled Emergence. Is it going to be on exhibit in Durango?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the design-very original.
ReplyDeleteForgot to ask: What was the inspiration? I'm really interested in the inspiration and process of the artist.
